FUNDRAISER: 100 SPECIALIZED VEHICLES FOR DEMINERS IN UKRAINE
Ukraine is going through a full-scale military invasion from Russia. One of the lasting consequences beyond the period of active war will be contamination of civilian-use areas and agricultural land with dangerous objects related to the military conflict, posing a range of risks for short and mid-term recovery of the affected territories, such as, mines and unexploded ammunition present a direct risk to the lives of civilians, agricultural workers, as well as critical agricultural machinery.
The emerging situation is particularly challenging because of the significant dependency of the Ukrainian economy on its agricultural production. It is evident that seasonal agricultural operations need to be continued to the full possible extent despite the horrific impact of the invasion.
We are mobilizing international resources to support humanitarian demining in Ukraine. In close cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine we are developing software to support efforts and ensure efficiency of demining operations by digitalizing the workflow for humanitarian demining.
Consequently, we aim to enhance a reporting system that will enable systematic removal and clearance of contaminated land. The envisioned system will reduce the risk of further loss of life and accelerate the socio-economic recovery of Ukraine. We are also looking for the supply of demining equipment and materials.
