FUNDRAISER:
AIDING DISPLACED UKRAINIANS
(INCLUDING COLLECTION OF IN-KIND DONATIONS)

Humanitarian Bridge is a Swiss-Polish-Ukrainian initiative that has been acting to help Ukraine and its people since the first day of the Russian invasion

Our greatest asset is to act on the spot. As we have representatives in Ukraine, we can help directly on the spot and be effective where it is most needed.

For example, we are constantly supporting the refugee center in Tereshky (Poltava region) which houses more than 250 people (adults, children, people with reduced mobility) who left the Kharkiv region at the beginning of the war. We are also in constant contact with volunteers in Kramatorsk and Chernigiv, whom we supply with food, diapers for adults and children, and hygiene products. Besides, we have contacts with several hospitals in Kharkiv, where we have delivered medicines and medical equipment on several occasions. On the way back from our missions in Ukraine, we collect displaced families fleeing the war and help them get to Europe.

In the first months after the outbreak of war we ran another initiative called Free Ukraine Angels. Our angels were the volunteers speaking Ukrainian, Russian, French and English. They were available to Ukrainian refugees to welcome, inform and accompany them according to their needs. They coordinate available support services and options with the Salvation Army Hotspot, City of Carouge, various hotels, centers for medical and psychological help, or legal consultants. This project has transformed into refugee support in Switzerland in the form of educational support, cultural events and trainings

Currently, we are collecting monetary and in-kind donations of wheelchairs, children’s car seats, bicycles and household appliances (e.g., fridges). In constant need are the diapers, dry food, medicines and hygiene products. We consider ourselves efficient because we can help directly, we organise the logistics from Europe to Ukraine, we know the intricacies of customs, and we control the distribution of the aid on the spot.

We are coordinating the needs analysis and fulfillment with the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland, with the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN Office in Geneva, as well as with the authorities of the Canton of Geneva Hospice Général, City of Geneva, Geneva University Hospitals, etc.), and the authorities of the Canton of Vaud (EVAM, City of Nyon, City of Gland, various Vaud municipalities, Le Mont)
