Free Ukraine strengthens cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) in the field of humanitarian demining in Ukraine.
On October 20th, the team of the Swiss charitable organization Free Ukraine held a meeting with the leadership of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) in the city of Kyiv.
During the meeting, they discussed further collaboration and cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining of Ukrainian territories.
With the support of the SES, in early August 2022, Free Ukraine volunteers launched the MineFree mobile mine safety application (minefree.info), which alerts Ukrainian citizens to the proximity of known explosive hazard zones and provides access to up-to-date interactive maps.
During the meeting, the Free Ukraine team announced their readiness to launch the second release of the MineFree application with additional functionality, which has been improved based on user feedback.
Additionally, they discussed directions for cooperation related to the use of advanced technologies, such as satellite data and analytics, to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian demining.
An agreement was reached between representatives of Free Ukraine and the SES to further collaborate in securing international financial resources to support the material base and humanitarian demining efforts, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland.
